No you are only stuck with him until 18, but you do have to give him 30 days notice.

If he is a threat to your or others in your household, you need to notify the authorities and they will handle him. No, you are not stuck with him. Let the police know you want him gone. If he is violent you may need to take an emergency protective order out on him.

THE ONLY WAY TO FIND OUT IS TALK TO A LAWYER, OR FIND A PLACE THAT KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT THE LAW IN NY. BUT IF HES THAT BAD AT 18 HES CONSIDER AN ADULT KICK HIM OUT. ONE DAY JUST CHANGE THE LOCKS ON YOUR DOORS AND IF HE BREAKS IN CALL THE COPS AND REPORT HE BROKED INTO YOUR HOME.

you are not stuck with him..however, he does have residency there, so in order to have him removed you need to have him evicted..get a lawyer
