Why are people so selfish?

if eeryone would look around and help others for a change this world could be ten times better. I wish we really did have a day for everyone to pay it forward all over the world for 24 hours.

People are selfish because they are too caught up in their selves to notice that everyone else has a need to be taken care of.I do believe we should have a pay it forward day as well but if u really want that to happen u have to be the one to start it.We are never too young or too old to realize how much we can change.The next time ur around a selfish person ask them what was the nicest thing they did for someone that week.When you see a selfish person act just the way they do around them and see how they respond to it and if they complain just calmly point out they do the same.

you are certainly right but human nature has been chockful of selfishness ever since day one. it ain't gonna change.

but, thankfully, as we yield to God and allow Him to change us, He puts within us His unselfish nature and takes out all that junk. Believe or not, historically, Christians have always been at the forefront of helping the homeless, providing for the poor, and caring for the sick.

because to each his/her own. It's just like survival of the fittest. There are simply too many people in this world and it's not big enough for everyone (unless we exploit the animals for our own purposes...oh wait, we already do do that!)

It is easier to please yourself than to someone else. It is less work and easier to be selfish. It is hard work sometimes being selfless because you dont have pride or many other things to deal with
