Franklin said it is a Republic. In a Republic the people vote for representatives to speak for them. That is what we have.
In a Democracy the people directly vote or petition the Government
Like was said earlier. It is scary that so many of the people do not know what kind of government we live under.

It is scary, really scary to see that almost no one knows what type of government the US has.
I guess that is what is wrong with the political system,
The US is a republic. But in practice since the civil war it has been moving away from that concept
