On Crossing Jordan, what happened to Jordan's father and the bar he owned?

I missed a whole chunk of it and the last time I saw it, Jordan's father owned and worked in a bar. Now I've been watching it and he isn't in it. Does anyone know how he left the show?

If I remember correctly, he gave the bar to Jordan and left town. What she did with it, I don't know. He's come back fime to time, but never really explained where he went.
