We cling on to all our children not just our daughters. We don't mind them growing up we mind them getting hurt in the process. We just want to protect them from preventable pain. Like crap we al ready lived through and we now no better. Why should they relive it too.

It is a stereo typical question. I have 2 children and they are both sons. I admit I do cling to them and I'll tell you why. They are my own flesh and blood and I love them with all my heart and I cling to them because I don't want them to ever get hurt in life. I know I can't shelter them forever though, but I can try. Every good mother clings to their children if they love them unconditionally.

That's not true. I have two daughters and I look forward to the day when they are able to fly on their own.I will miss them but I know that I am raising them to be responsible young adults.I Know that they aren't going to go away forever,I will still see them and be proud of their accomplishments whatever they might be! They will take with them the love and guidance that they have been given knowing when they need more I am always just a phone call away.

I love my daughters with all my heart, they were taken from me as children and now I have them back. I don't want to keep them from doing what they want to do, but I do want to guide them. I don't cling to them but I like to know what is going on in their lives.

Not sure I know many mothers like this. Most I know are helpful but are more than willing to let their daughters live their own lives.

Selfishness. They don't want to lose the companionship of their daughters and be left, possibly, with only their wayward sons and their balding, emotionally-vacant, overweight husbands. By the way, I am a man.
