I think it would be pretty cool to try that secret shopping job but since you have to pay like $20 I just wanted to see if anyone else does it and is it worth it?

Mystery shopping is real, I'm a professional mystery shopper and have been doing it for 5 years. YOU DO NOT PAY ANYONE TO BECOME A MYSTERY SHOPPER. You know what those are? It's a list of mystery shop companies you get for free from www.mysteryshop.org and forum.volition.com

These places saying you make $20-50/hr for mystery shopping..ha! Ya, you MIGHT do $40/hr for ONE hour if you have more than one shop lined up within a hour and they are close to each other. The average mystery shop pays $5-15 EACH. This includes DOING the shop, and going home and submitting the results. If it's a store, 85% of the time YOU HAVE TO RETURN the item, you don't get to keep it.

************* is NOT a mystery shop company nor is it truely affiliated with mystery shopping. I'm registered with over 80 mystery shop companies, and I've seen many states with the routes I've taken. No surveys to fill out to make money, blah. The jobs are there, you just have to be able to find it. Do not ever pay a company to register.

A classic example of someone that charges to become a mystery shopper would be Shadow shopper, www.shadowshopper.com and Mysteryshop link (they advertise on the radio) www.mysteryshoplink.com

Get the same info for free DIRECTLY from the companies and thousands of other shoppers.

And no, you will not get rich doing mystery shopping. Most people have full time jobs and do mystery shopping to supliment their income. I'm one of very few people that live on it full time and even I do other jobs to make the $20,000/year income with this. Anyone is welcome to e-mail me if you have any questions about mystery shopping. I'll be more than happy to help you out. I was new once. I've done over 3,000 shops to date.

I've done it. You have to be careful though. If you have to spend $20 and you're only getting paid $25, you have to weigh the options. If you're getting paid to shop a restaurant at lunch and you have to spend $20, you basically get an almost free lunch with a little work. Just decide if it's worth it to you.
I secret shopped a daycare facility and it paid somewhere in the $20-$25 range. It took about an hour of my time to drive there, tour it, and then I had to come home and complete the paperwork online. Was it worth it? I didn't really think so and I haven't done one since. They also stated in the rules that if your paperwork is incomplete for any reason or unusable that your shop would be voided and you would not get paid. I did get paid, but I was nervous that there was that someone could wave a wand and you could possibly not get paid for your work. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

You need to find the one that doesn't require you to pay to get a job. I worked for a company that had secert shoppers shop the stores once each month. The shoppers worked for a company who specialized in secert shoppers. Many stores do it but don't get led into the scam of paying. They are not the actually companies that these stores use.
Check out www.shopnchek.com I believe the website is.

I tried the one that costs $20 and I never got one job.
However, I did have some luck with ShopNChek.com.
It doesn't cost anything to join. It has been my experience that secret shopping doesn't pay much and it usually takes 2 months after you do the work to get paid. But, you can make $100-$200 a month if you are willing to mess with it.
Good luck!

You have to apply to become a /secret /mystery shopper at the websites of these market research companies. They will then contact you if they have any assignment in your area. List of companies where you can apply free and links to relevant websites available at http://tinyurl.com/n474j

I thought it would be cool too, but when I checked with the BBB it was a scam. I was always told if it is a good company, then they don't ask for money or your personal info (bank account, social security number, etc.) I always check with the BBB first.
