i wouldn't say its too late!... as long as you have a teacher willing to teach you, then its okay. but don't go on too early, you could seriously hurt yourself if you don't have strong enough feet, ankles and calves. also, you need to have good ballet technique first- you'll probably have to wait a while if you're still a beginner... good luck!

No, it is never too late to learn ballet! As long as you have the passion, go ahead to do it. I know people who get en pointe when they are 25 years old. Right now, since you are taking ballet classes, I believe if you work hard, in the next few years, you will definitely go en pointe. It won't be too soon anyway, but there will be your turn to go en pointe.

It's not too late, but it's certainly too early. If you are dancing less than a couple hours a week, then it will probably take you at least 18-24 months to be at a level to be able to go en pointe. The more classes you take, the quicker you'll be strong enough and have the proper technique.

You should not go en pointe until you're at the intermediate level. It's not just about being fit, it's about having good technique and strength to prevent you from getting injured.
It's not too late, but it will take you some time before your technique is in the right place. (This will also depend on how frequently you take classes)
I also agree with the other folks: make sure to talk to your teacher about it and make sure to get a proper shoe fitting when the time is right.

No it's not too late. There's a girl who dances in my class and her mom (who I think was in her mid-thirties) did ballet for a couple years as was on pointe. (she also did tap and jazz) I think that it might've been difficult for her at times, but then again, pointe isn't easy for anyone.
Bring it up with your teacher and see what she says. If this is your first year taking ballet, you will probably have to wait a year or two before trying pointe.
Good luck and have fun!

this could be unique although there are continuously exceptions so it incredibly is of direction practicable. What you would be able to desire to do is detect a ballet college and do as plenty dancing, stretching, strengthening, training and so on as you just about easily can. collectively as you recognize what it incredibly is such as you have a miles better concept of no count in case you have what it takes to pass professional (or ought to you even although choose to). do no longer underestimate how annoying ballet is. spectacular luck and no count in case you come to be a dancer or now no longer you will optimistically have some relaxing and learn from the type new understanding.

I danced for thirteen years before I was ready for pointe. I started dancing when I was 4 years old. It would take a lot of hard work and a lot of pain, but if you are really, really serious about it, you could do it. It will not be easy. Be careful not to take it too fast and don't hurt yourself. Never put pointe shoes on unless your teacher says its ok.
The teachers are usually certified and know what they are talking about. I know. :)

No its never to late (well not at your age), but to warn you pionte does hurt and you will have somebody fit you properly ( don't order pionte shoes from magazines. Also have the person that is fitting you tell you were to sew the ribbons and elastic ( but most of the time the person can sew them for you). By the way pionte shoes HURT do not take them lightly, of course after a while they stop hurting but for the first couple of weeks they will hurt. YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER GO UP ON PIONTE WITHOUT SOMEONE THAT HAS GIVEN AT LEAST THE BASICS! I am on pionte and it does not hurt but when i first when on my toes felt like they were bleeding. Also you should try different toe pads. Most people go for gel or gel tips pad but i never needed to so I am fine on wool pads. Try to look up some websites (unfortunately I don't have one) but I know there are a lot.
HAVE FUN!!!!!
