In general, if you feel that you have made all your humblest efforts to apologize for a mistake, and they refuse to forgive you, what do you do? If the relationship/friendship/partnership is very important to you, and they still reject your attempt to make peace after you have given your all, what else can be done?

And, how can you get past someone's "stonewall" when you really believe it is in both of your best interests to communicate?

Nothing else can be done. You cannot force forgiveness when it is not given voluntarily.

The only thing left for you to do is to accept your loss, grieve for it, and move on hopefully learning a lesson to not repeat whatever it was you did.

I am a very unforgiving person and I have banished people from my life because of that. However, it doesn't mean I don't care about them. I actually do, but I have lost faith in them...something that can never be recaptured. So, if it offers you some comfort, perhaps the person whom you wronged still cares about you, but they no longer feel they can have you in their life. It happens.

It might take time for them to forgive you. Depends on what you did. If you did something truly awful there might not be any amount of apologizing that will make up for it.

I believe if you give a sincere apology that's all you can do. It's up to the other person rather they want to accept it or not. If they choose not to accept you've done all you can do. Don't loose any sleep over it.

Back away, Give her time to think it out. and in a month, Call and ask if she would like to go out to dinner, If she refuses ask her what can I do to make you understand that I am truly sorry. and I just don't want to lose our friendship. and that's all you can do.

You accept the circumstances, no matter how difficult they are, because you have no choice. You do not have the power.
