It depends on what you are talking or seeing. Be strong and tell yourself you will not cry!

looking up and blinking alot saved me in a couple of situations. that way the tears dont' start rolling down your face. also take a couple of big breaths and encourage yourself to be strong for a bit longer. until you have some privacy....unfortunately sometimes when the waterworks come you just have to let it all out, and there's nothing wrong with a good cry!

Depends. I always cry at parades. Don't ask me why. Fact is, I get choked up. Yes, it's embarassing. I just hold my breath and and look down for a sec or two and that usually helps. Also, I always cry at school plays, concerts with kids on stage. (me in audience) gosh that is embarassing so I know how you feel. I do the same thing...and/or I look around to distract myself for a moment. OHHHHHHHHHHH...and I always, ALWAYS cry at ball games when National Anthem is played. (And go figure....I don't cry at acquaintance funerals. strange, eh?) I guess I figure I cry more out of sheer happiness and joy then sadness. Odd...but that is me and that is what makes me unique....and you, as well :)

take a couple of really deep breaths. and i mean REALLY deep breaths, like 5 of them. bite your tongue or your lip really hard. that way you're focused on the pain in your mouth and not crying. i did it today and it works like a charm. hope this helps! :D
