What about the pill? Look, If you are going to have sex in a reckless fashion than you should be prepared to deal with the consequesnces of pregnancy. My government ( we the people ) should never be offering any pregnant woman options and alternatives of termination. Why? Its your body, do what you want with it...I believe that if you become pregnant and you choose to abort the fetus then the deed should be performed by your own hands without any criminal repercussions. You live with it, because this government is forcing it on the people...

I agree! There is no rationalization these days for unplanned pregnancy unless it is the result of rape. Even then, how about adoption?? But there are too many highly effective ways to prevent pregnancy, with minimal side effects these days. You can take a daily pill, a monthly pill, get an injection every 3 months, wear a patch, use a vaginal ring that you can't even tell is there, use a diapragm, get an IUD placed every 7 years, get little pharmaceutical rods 1/2 inch long placed under the skin of your upper arm every 5 years, use a female condom, use regular condoms (please, please, do this for STD protection every time you have sex, even if you're on another method of birth control, until you are in a completely monogamous relationship that can be verified by regular testing of both partners)!!!!! Unplanned pregnancy should be an oxymoron in this day and age. Abortion should not be a means of birth control! It is risky and sometimes dangerous for the woman. And the life long guilt and emotional scarring can be intense for some women. As a nurse, I have cared for women who have had 15, 20 pregancies terminated by abortion. It's not a pretty sight, physically or emotionally. Everyone, please take care of yourselves. Make good choices, be responsible, and protect yourself. Please, please...........

I would never have an abortion, although there are certain situaitons that call for one, like incest or rape, even though i still couldn't do it. The only way i would even consider it was if the baby would die, and so would I, i have three living children to take care of. All these women, and girls are aborting babies, and then woman like my best friend, who has been trying for 8 years to get pregnant and can't, and has had several miscarriges. Why can't they give their babies up for adoption? THere is such a need there! Is sickening to me!

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. That's your solution?? You want to go back to the days of back alley abortions where women die? The issue is over, it's legal for women to get an abortion, get over it.

Sure, it is your own desicion to have sex while you aren't ready to become a parent, but what about the baby? Even when it is a day old, it has the chance to grow into a new life. Think! What if your mom aborted you? Would you have the chance to say no? NO. You aren't supposed to have sex until you are married, anyway. Women need to face the consequences of their stupid behavior. I know sexual urges can be very strong (I would know b/c I'm 14) but they can be dealt with. I probably can't stop women's desicions, but they should know they will face the consequences when they die, whether they belive in God or not. Even if you don't belive in God, abortion is unfair to the baby, whether it be just a zygote or an actual, functioning embryo.

Don't judge others until you have walked in their shoes. I don't think abortion should be an issue either. Its a medical procedure that is protected legally. Besides, just because a woman has an abortion does not mean she engages in reckless sex. Mistakes happen. Get off your moral high horse and show some compassion. Just my two cents.

I agree with this on a level. We dont need to legalize abortions, women have been aborting their unwanted pregnancies for eons.
Its a womans right to care for her body and not get pregnant, not to go around sleeping with anything that makes sperm and terminated the unwanted babies so she can continue her reckless lifestyle.
While birthcontrol is excellent, and should be used by all women who dont want babies, its not fool proof. One in 100 women who take the pill for a year will become pregnant while on it. Thats a lot of babies. Other meathods should be used in tandem, as should abstenence.
There are no unwated babies, only selfish parents who dont want the ones they made.

Studies have shown that the majority of America is against abortion and are just waiting for another Roe V Wade to overturn it.
With that said it is just a matter of time.
