For me, I have self learned many genres of mathematics, from Algebra to Calculus. I have also become very knowledgeable on subjects such as Cosmology, Physics, Ancient Philosophy-Western Philosophy, as well as Psychology, and I am studying to become a psychiatrist as well. I am an Astronomer and Philosopher. I am also studying languages in an attempt to become a hyperpolyglot. Apparently, I am an autodidact.

My IQ is 125...I think that is up there but I don't think it's Einstein or anything...two of my kids are gifted too one 99th percentile the other 96th...so it's got to be something in the genes.

I class myself as "Jill of all trades but master of none." I can achieve what I put my mind to...but really I've kind of run out of steam...LOL Every now and again something pops up that interests me and I go to town at it...but asides from that I don't stress myself out for much anymore.

School can only teach you so much, beyond school anything you learn is up to you. That is truly the definition I believe you are asking about, so yes, in many ways I am...been out of school a long, long time and self taught in many ways.

At your age however I'd say find a point of direction. I know lots of students who spend hundreds and thousands of mommy and daddy's mommy only to be no better off in as far as what that education actually did for them career wise.

I consider myself to be autodidactic to a degree on certain subjects such as gardening, herbology and their uses but I have also studied anthropology, forensics and archeology on the college level...
I am nowhere near a hyperpolyglot and I say bravo...I do well with my own language and a smattering of Spanish and French...moreso French...you have a great head on your shoulders!
