About 30 minutes ago, my sister spilled some juice on my blanket. It's not Orange Juice, but it IS juice that is orange. Do I wash it in cold water? Warm water? Do I need to put anything on it so that it won't stain? Please help! I tried calling my mom, but she's not answering. I need some specififc answers, if you would please!

I appreciate the answers you've given, or are going to give.
I don't have any kind of special sprays or anything. The only thing I have is the powder soap to wash clothes. My sister said that even dish washing soap can take it out... is this true?

if you don't have any thing like spray and wash or stain remover, just put some liquid detergent on it and rub it in. If you don't have liquid, you might use something like dawn, not too much. Wash in cold water, check the stain before you put it in the dryer, if its not gone, don't dry it. Wash it again.

First soak up all the remaining juice from the blanket using paper towel (too late as it's at least 30 min ago).
Rinse it with lukewarm water for about 5 min.
Spray some Zout Oxy (pic: http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/b7/d5/Zout_Oxy_Foam-resized200.jpg) on the soiled spot. Rub it a bit. Let stand for a couple of min.
Throw the blanket in a washing machine under warm-cold cycle.
It should be fine. :)
Update: Just read that you only got powder detergent. It's fine too. Take some powder and mix it with a bit of lukewarm water. Pour the mix on your stain and rub it vigorously for a few min. Rinse and check. Add some more liquid mix and let stand for for a few min, then throw it in a washing machine under warm-cold cycle. Wash it again (without drying it) if there's still stain on it.

Hello,
Yes; You need to wash in cold water, and if you don't have any type of stain remover pre wash it with dish detergent.
FYI By using warm or hot water you take the chance of setting in stains.......... Hope this helps

Just wash it any old way and then put it out in the sunshine. Although it may still look like it has a stain when you pull it out of the washing machine, the sunshine will bleach it the rest of the way.

Rub some liquid soap on it, put it in the washer on cold and let it soak for a while. What ever you do, DO NOT put it in the dryer until the stain is completely gone.

you could try club soda,...first get the stain out (don't rub hard) then wash it in the machine or dry clean it (depends on the tag on the blanket for washing instructions)

Good luck,

I dont know...but whatever you choose to do. Whatever the outcome of your situation is, do NOT mix bleach and ammonia.
