Conservatives because they are from the supposed 'conservative' side of politics .. They say they stand for greater personal freedom and choice, but im yet to see Howard prove any of this .. The name Liberal was chosen deliberately for its associations with progressive nineteenth century free enterprise and social equality. Labor is our oldest political party .. with broad appeal and great links to trade unions .. but lately cant seem to get a look in edgewise.

there is modern liberalism and classic liberalism.
modern day liberalism = left/social
classic liberalism = right/conservatism
during the late 1970's in America and Europe the term liberal was used to describe left/social political ideology
Australia's liberal party was founded in 1942 so classic liberalism, right/conservatism

Labour would be unable to spell :) The hard artwork occasion replaced into initially for the labourers. This idiosyncrasy outcomes from the impact of the yank hard artwork flow on the founders of the Australian hard artwork occasion The ALP formally observed the call "Australian Labour occasion" in 1908, yet replaced the spelling to "hard artwork" in 1912. The ALP replaced into motivated by using a sought after parent contained in the early history of the occasion, the yank born King O'Malley, who effectively replaced the spelling to American English, from British English.

You got me, different terminology I suppose. Liberal isn't a bad word really. It it means liberty. There's nothing wrong with liberty. I like the Aussie political system and I think the Australians are cool!

They are not Liberals or Conservatives. They are Socialists. The word "Liberal" itself is not bad. Their philosophy is just moronic.
