we all know that men esp in india like to treat women like junk
when its their sister they will murder a guy for looking at her-they will not allow her to dress the least bit revealing but when its another woman they want as revealing as possible without considering that she is a sister and a daughter too?
i would realli like the know how men justify this! you may not fit in this category so enlighten me by saying something good!

Sorry to say but India has a backwards culture that does not really respect a woman, nor celebrate the birth of a female child. I blame this on indian women, for being intolerate of their female children and teaching their sons that its ok to disrespect a woman. Alot of these women were forced into arranged marriages where they really did not matter, and the only thing that did matter was the money they were bringing into the marriage. Where is the love?

It's called "misogynism". They hate and despise women, so they attempt to control them. I agree with Bob. Women, to men like that, are not human, they're property. Objects to be owned and controlled. One cannot love an object.

The way they'd treat other women is really how they feel about their own sisters, mothers, grams, etc., if given the chance.

If a female relative as much as shows a part of herself which she shouldn't, they view it as a reflection of themselves, and what they feel is "humiliation", so they'd rather go as far as killing the female relative than face the consequences of "what others would think". They don't dare step outside their societal boundaries, and possibly show a brotherly love to their female relatives for fear of being chastised by those that hate "all women".

Their very behavior is hatred. It has nothing to do with love. If they showed any respect to those who are not related to them, then they might convince others that they do love women. However, since men who behave as they do, lack any self-respect, then they neither love their own siblings, mothers, aunts, grams, or any women.

When one has not learned to love and respect themselves, they have difficulty loving others.

your question is itself a way towards answer..u will only going to get an answer which is already stays somewhere deep within your heart.
But according to indian rituals brothers are bound to protect their sisters .. and simply they found it their responsiblity to keep her away from any trouble. It depends on the cultures to be submissive and revealing. But no brother will tolerate a bad comment for her sister, whether he is indian or american.

Men don't think anyone is good enough to s**g their sisters. Also they hate to see their sisters treating other guys the way they were once treated. (Because before your sister gets a boyfriend she does your hair and follows you everywhere except sleep with you which is nice)

I know because I have Six of them all ages. A laugh. Now where's my shotgun?

I had four sisters, and I loved all of them, but I never so much as offered them a suggestion about who to date or gave them a critique of someone they were dating unless they asked for it. If I had seen them dating an obvious psycho or something I would have done something, but they had good minds of their own and that never happened.

Wasn't as lucky with one of my stepdaughters. Had to stick my nose in one time because she was dating a kid who was a heavy drug user, liar, thief and an obnoxious little poseur. True MTV casualty. My wife was reluctant to DEMAND that she dump him when all the patient and logical requests for her to do so failed, but I had to convince her it had to be done. He was no goddam good. AND I was tired of him ripping stuff off. Couldn't prove that he was, though. If I could have I would have had him arrested.

I'd been in a lot of trouble myself as a kid, and maybe it's the old "takes one to know one" thing, but I think I saw the kid for what he really was, and my wife didn't at first. I eventually convinced her. Nobody who really cares WANTS to be stuck with having to intercede in these situations, but if it comes down to a choice between doing so or risking trying to live with not having done everything you reasonably could have after your kid or your sister gets killed in a car wreck or thrown in jail because of some little criminal's dumb ***, most parents or brothers that really do care will reluctantly opt for the former.

Fate interceded at that point, because he was arrested for arson and possession and thrown in the jug, and she admitted we had been right. Had that not happened though, we would have been froced to tell her to dump him or move out. Not because I thought she was stupid (she wasn't - just a tad wild and rebellious) or my or my wife's property or any other damn thing. It's just what I felt I/we would have had to do.

A lot of men may well be motivated to, without adequate justification, stick their noses into matters regarding their daughter's or their sister's choices in male company because of the misguided, arrogant, sexist motivations that have been hyperbolized in the usual batch of knee-jerk responses here (this stuff is a reality, though. Much more common in certain cultures than others). But there's always just a TINY chance they just feel that, given their experiences, which may have provided them with instincts and insights the female in question just MIGHT not have or had, can't sit idly by and ignore a situation where their choice in males has put them in a situation they think is genuinely dangerous for them any more than they could if they watched their sister or their daughter drink a quart of Tequila and be preparing to take off in the car to visit a friend in another state, or be about to trip over a cinderblock and fall down a well.

If a woman decide to flash every thing on the road, nobody will close their eyes.Men do not go and tell others how to dress.Their brothers should advice them .No body should blame flies to come and sit on dirt. This is our American way.Brothers should be protective of their sisters.
