Hello, I am 16 weeks prego. I have had a pretty easy pregnancy so far. My morning sickness was tolerable. Overall I am pretty lucky and I know it. However, I wondering if anyone has felt this way before in pregnancy, this is my first. Ok, I would not say I am depressed, just frustrated, but very excited to have my first child with my hubby, but sometimes I feel overwhelmed with being pregnant. Almost like, I am not me anymore. I can't play tennis anymore, my most favorite activity, because I get dizzy, so I feel like my muscle tone is going away fast, even though I walk and such. I have acne on my back, chest and now on my face. I have a very stuffy nose all the time, I miss a glass of wine every now and then. :( I know it is worth it but getting used to these changes within my body is hard. Please do not misunderstand, I am excited for the end result and at 29, sucessful financially and personally we are ready....

To say the least, it is a major life change. No matter how ready you think you are, its still a shock physically and mentally. Life will never be the same! I have two, ages 20 and 23 and love them will all my heart and soul. There is a mother, child connection unlike any other, no daddy will ever understand. To carry a life inside you, nourish it, watch it grow up is an experience I am glad I had.
I don't think you have the blues, just emotional changes due to hormones. I used to have massive mood swings and go from happy to sad in .2 seconds. I even remember one night swinging a coke bottle at my ex-husband in a fit of anger. He had the patience of a saint with me. You should get the book, "what to expect when you are expecting" There were no such helpful books 20 odd years ago. I hear it is great. Just make sure you get enough sleep, eat well, exercise and talk to your husband. Now is the time to hone those communication skills, and let him feel what you are, as best he can. The more open and honest you are with him, the better he can help you through the mood swings. All the best to you both, and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and delivery. There is nothing like being a mom!

Welcome to Motherhood! Every thing you described is perfectly normal during pregnancy. You sound completly sane. No woman can be preggo and not be scared, nervous, anxious or frustrated over it and everything it impact. From now on your life will be different and you will be a different person. You won't lose who you were tho, only become a better more expierienced individual.
The dizziness is due to the large amount of nutrioun the baby is taking form, you, well, mostly the placenta at this time but the baby will soon take more and more out of you. You don't have to stop if you are not high risk. Just tone it down, playy easy with someone you know will understand. The excersise will be great.Talk to your doctor first about what you should not do.(like belly flopping nose first into the net) The stuffy nose, well it drove me mad! It was summer and I sounded like Rudoulph. The added amount of blood in your bosy(about 2/3 more then when you are not pregnant) puts added pressure on your sinuses. use vicks and a cool mist humidifier. The acne is fom the extreme amount of hormones running thru your veins to build that placenta up to nourish that baby. It too will clear up later into your pregnancy. When the 2nd trimest hits you will feel aot better, then comes the 3rd which is almost if not worst then the 1st (not to scare you but it really is.) but soon you will have that little baby in your arms and all the stress, it will go away until she starts walking into tables and almost poking her eye out.(my little biy did that today!) All the pain it brings will be rewarded in the end.

Yes it is . With my second my head was always in the fridge and when i used to go to work i would spend what i earnt that day on food . My husband thought it was hilarous as our fridge has an alarm on and needless to say it was going all the time I give up worrying and decided if i was hungry then i had to eat as it was helping the baby grow As for the weight issue you can work it off after birth . As for morning sickness try a clear soup to line your tummy ginger is fab for easing morning sickness (biscuits) and dry toast Just wait until the cravings kick in ... i craved ben and jerrys phish food with pancakes and i would eat it morning noon and night . Pregnancy is a blessing as you can get as big as you like with no critism it is very empowering and you will lose the weight when you go to the gym etc after the birth . You could also try some light exercise during

Its normal, its part of having mood swings and hormone changes.

Just stay active and find the resolve that says this is worth it for that wonderful baby youre making.

You will get back that muscle tone, you will play tennis again, and you will feel like yourself once the baby is here.

While having a baby changes your life, it doesnt end it. This is only 9 months, not eternity. Focus on the purpose of this time. You're doing it for the baby.
