so, my boufriend has this 30-45 gallon tank. there where 10 tetras, 4 smaller fish like tetras, 5 angels, 3 catfish, a rope goby, some corys and some placo. the tank sprung a leak and now there are the 10 tetras and about 5 inches of water in the whole tank. we moved all the other fish along with the filter and heater. when i turned on the light to the tank that has a leak, there seems to be tons of little live fish or some kind of mechanizm living in the water of the tank....they are not microscopic cause i can see them with my eye....could they be baby fish? now that the water is still they are noticable. what could they be?

They could be babies. What are your fish that are 'like tetras'? If they are platies, mollies, guppies, swordtails or endlers, then they are likely babies, as those fish spit out baby fish ervery month!
They could also be angelfish babies - however, angelfish are good, aggressive parents and you probably would have noticed if they had eggs and fry.
They probably aren't tetra fry - tetra eggs usually get eaten before they can hatch.

Wait for them to grow and you'll get a better idea what they are.

Fry don't necessarily look like what they are. In fact, all baby fish pretty much look the same.

Is it possible they are insects or worms of some sort? If you had dirty water, you can get pests in your water. It might be worth taking one out and looking at it under a bright light / magnifying glass.
Also, those other fish are probably rasboras. They also lay eggs and are not likely to be the parents.

Some fish are live bearers. It is very possible that you have baby fish now that the other larger ones are gone. They could have been having babies the whole time and the larger fish were eating them. I raise guppies and if I don't keep plants in the water to hide in, the cory doras eat the babies. You might check around online and research exactly what kind of tetras you have and if they are live bearers.

The note fishes is really perfect in this question--'fishes' is used for at the same time as there are a selection of communities of fish, or this sort of fish is unknown. do not question me how i do not ignore that. =] It relies upon... the only time i have ever experienced it, they were the great black goldfish with bulging eyes (i visit't remember the call). there have been about 15-20 tiny little itsy bitsy black fish, very puzzling to % out, yet i'm no longer confident maximum of them made it. even with the undeniable fact that, it may decision reckoning at this sort of fish... do slightly analyze on the particular style and doubtless that'll help. good luck, i wish this helped!
