The eqaution is 22 times x + 2 (3 times x + 5) = 66

I need to find the number of x. So I'd really apreciate if you could explain how this is solved.

Thank you-

22x+2(3x+5)=66
22x+6x+10=66 [Distribute the 2 to the 3x+5 in the parenthesis]
28x+10=66 [Combine the x's]
28x=56 [Subtract 10 from both sides]
x=2 [Divide each side by 28]

22*x + 2 * (3*x + 5) = 66
First multiply out the parentheses.
22*x + 6*x + 10 = 66
Then add together the 22*x and 6*x
28*x + 10 = 66
Then subtract 10 from both sides.
28*x = 55
Then Divide 55 by 28.
x = 55/28

do brackets 1st so 2(3x+5) where 2X3x=6x and 2X5=10
giving you 6x+10 which u put back in as follows
22x+6x+10 =66 which becomes
28x+10=66
thats simplified that so now u got:
28x+10=66
just move your constants now to get the answer
28x=66-10
28x=56
x=56/28
x=2

first, let's write the equation down in terms of numbers not words.

22x+2(3x+5) = 66

We want to find the value of x, so our solution is going to look like
x = some number

So let's try and make our equation look like that.

First we do the operations in the parantheses
22x+6x+10 = 66

Then we combine like terms
28x+10 = 66

Then we seperate the x's from the numbers by subtracting 10 from both sides.
28x = 56

Then we divide both sides by 28 to get x by itself.
x=2

and there's our answer.

22X+6X+10=66
or, 28X=66-10
or x=56/28=2 Solved.

you have to put it into the basic equation : ax + b =0 or ax = b
so that you can have x = -b/a or x = b/a ( a is not zero)

for example, in this case :
22x + 2(3x + 5) = 56
28x + 10 = 56
28x = 46
x = 46/28 = 23/14

22x + 6x + 10 = 66 [Distributive Prop.]
28x =56 [Collect & simplify like terms]
x = 56/28 = 2.

The check is left to you.
