This is amazing news, I thught that the price of oil was based on a free market that was governed by supply and demand. Silly me, and all this time if I was President I could magically make everything free for the asking. HEY EVERYBODY, VOTE FOR ME AND I'LL MAKE IT ALL FREE.

Can you believe there are still idiots around like the guy above me who said Bush improved this country? LOL.
Anyway, George the Junior hasn't quite destroyed this ocuntry yet, but I truly believe that if he had maybe four more years in office, that he would. So far, he has been, by FAR, the most damaging U.S. President, and history, in time, will agree to this. Bush HAS destroyed this country's reputation and standing in the world, and has made the world more dangerous for U.S. citizens; he has widened the gap between the two parties so far that they may never be able to work together agiain; he has taken a three trillion dollar surplus and turned it into a trillion dollar deficit; he has hurt the environment by reneging on Kyoto; he has violated our 4th and 5th Amendment Rights with the Patriot Act. And he has gotten 3000 young American men killed in a way waged on lies. Jeez, I'm getting ticked off just typing this; I gotta stop.

It's going to be a long way back, but we have a good start with the recent election. America has faced tougher obstacles, but the difference this time is the next generation, they will be paying the price for Bush's folly. Perhaps they will be the first generation that is not left better off by their predecessors, that's a very sad statement to make, it was always our parents objective to leave things better for their children and we have broken that chain, I hope they can forgive us.

I haven't figured out yet if he did what he did on purpose or if he is just stupid and did not know what he was doing but he did not destroy our country. I think it would take a lot more than bush has to destroy this great nation.

He is trying hard to destroy our country. Now for the first time in six years maybe Congress will pay attention to reality and do some serious oversight on this moron. Meanwhile the Republicans just keep goose-stepping along behind The Bushwacker chanting "stay the course".

Bush took the US to war in Iraq however the Congress and Senate voted to go. He is just the fall guy. The US is to dependent on foreign oil and therefore we are at the mercy of the middle east.

you think going to war and raising the price of oil is "destroying" our country? If the Democrats had their way, we would be speaking arabic, have 100% taxation and all business would be run by the government (for our own good mind you).

Bush took the United States to war. Not America.
America is all inclusive. Central America, South America and Canada. None of those countries went to war with Bush.
I wish people would realize that. We went to war as people from the United States.
Period.
