Well, basicall my phone got washed in the washing machine and doesnt work. I would get a new phone but you have to pay like $118 to get it.Some1 suggested we could buy an unlocked phone from somewhere like ebay and just get another SIM card from Cingular. My dream phone is the Sidekick 3 and I was wondering if I would be able to use it with Cingular while its unlocked. I would love it if I could use the internet but probably not. I just want to know if the phone itself and the basic stuff like calls and text messaging would work.

If it's unlocked, it will work for voice and texts, but the internet will not work.

Going from T-Mo to Cingular is certainly not a downgrade unless you consider better coverage a downgrade. I'll give T-Mo some credit where it is due; their customer service is better. However, what I consider most important in a cell service is coverage and T-Mo reminds me of what Sprint PCS was like for coverage ... in 1999!

No you would not be able to use a side kick 3 on a cingular SIM because of the differance in the technology in the phones each wireless company has differant technology and the side kick 3 is not compatiable with the cingular SIM. Just go to cingular.com and look for refurbished phones.

Technically you could because they are both GSM/EDGE/GPRS. However, in my opinion going from T-Mobile to Cingular is a downgrade.
