When they tell you something, if they look left or right then they are lying. Sometime if you know the person well enough they normally have a certain reaction.

i heard that if they look at you in the eyes and then look down towards the left, they are lying. also, if you are talking to someone about a person, for example "how is tracie doing?" and that person answers really really quickly, i think that might a sign too.

It's really hard to tell sometimes and unfortunately - some poeple are very good at it. Really focus on thier facial expressions and bodily gestures...do they seem fidgity or nervous....like not looking you directly in the eyes? If it is someone you trust then, maybe you just have to keep that trust in them unless you PROVE that person wrong. Good luck.

If they do not look into your eyes when they are telling you a lie. If there body language changes or the way that they speak is different like pausing or stuttering. If the story is different each time they tell it to you.

Shifty eyes, breaking eye contact when relaying story, stammering, story keeps changing, the person might turn the focus on you for the purpose of you not asking them any more questions.

the eye contact is the first thing and they often stammer when asked something or interrupted in between.....often the facts differ within few minutes of conversation and they try to make that up by giving anonymous instances relating two completely different things....;)

When they hesitate before answering. They give entirely too much detail, or they give none at all, depends on the personality of the person in question.
