I would keep my money and perhaps invite them all over for a potluck dinner. I would put my own immediate family FIRST this year. Due to unforseen bills, and saying you are broke, means exactly that YOU ARE BROKE.so don't give to others this year, just have the potluck,do you realize how much you would be spending on those baskets? How many bills could you cover with the money those would cost,or how much in groceries would that buy for your own family to eat? I am sorry but I do NOT think buying Lindt chocolates for someone else when my own family is in need would be a good thing to do. I would be more than grateful to get a gift like you are talking about, but would feel really bad if I knew they needed the money for themselves and spent it on a gift basket for me,I would really feel terrible and hopefully your own family would feel the same. Keep the money and pay your own bills this year.

I think it is very thoughtful gift and if you can't afford to have all those things in the basket, you can cut down on a few things. Keep the tangerines though because they are so delicious! If anyone is unappreciative of such a gift they don't deserve it. I think it is a very nice gift, simple but very nice. I love gift baskets because you get a little bit of this and a little bit of that. You can personalize the gift basket to each persons preference. Lindt chocolates are so good! Just make sure you are aware of peoples allergies like nuts and such. Mugs are good too, you can get some for real cheap at the dollar stores, try to get a funny mug, or something that will make them smile when they have their cup of tea or coffee. Oh, that reminds me, you can add some nice teas to the basket too. Maybe a selection of different flavors in the mugs. You can save money by making your own ornaments if you have time. If you get chocolates, try marzipan chocolates... I think they are delicious and not many people know about them (marzipan is an almond type paste or filling and you can find it on it's own or in chocolates). When I was young I used to get apples, oranges and candy canes in a paper bag from one person and I thought that was just dandy. My step mom taught me to be appreciative of that kind of stuff, she would tell me that in her country the kids would wait all year just to have those gifts because fruits were expensive and were considered a real big treat. People expect too much these days for Christmas, keeping it simple is what it should be all about.

I think it sounds cool, the only thing that I wonder about is the cell phone charger, not all phones use the same chargers, but other then that is sounds very cool! There is also a recipe to make chicken noodle soup, you put all the stuff in a Mason Jar and they can make their own soup.

I would put a package of hot choclate and a candy cane in the mugs. (here you can get a box of twelve for about a buck). I would not get the cell charges or the tangerines those to me seem kinda out of place.
Just my thoughts.

You know -- that gift basket has something that will make everyone happy in the family that receives the basket -- it is very thoughtful -- and quite a good idea!

I hope this helps!
