The best & most accurate (and very easy too) way is charting your cycle, it will tell you when you ovulate so you know exactly when you are fertile!

I am sorry but Josie is speaking for only people with that particular cycle. I have a 26 day cycle and ovulate on day 12 every month. Day 13 to 15 is way too late for anyone with a shorter cycle.

You will ovulate MOST OF THE TIME 14 days BEFORE the start of your period. You need to have intercourse every day for the six days leading up to and including the day of ovulation, or every other day if he has a low sperm count (less than 20 mil). Your temperature will go up about 1 degree and stay up THE DAY AFTER you ovulate. You can also spend $40 or less on a saliva monitor and look for a ferning pattern which indicates ovulation is approaching or occuring. Your cervix will feel open near ovulation, and your cervical fluid will be very very thin. If you feel akward checking this, I don't know how you will feel being in labor because you will be on display!

"Mother Nature" has a way of letting you know when you are in your 30's...your libido is higher right after your period ends and for the days leading up to ovulation. It will decrease after ovulation and increase one day before your period begins (no sex after ovulation protects the developing embryo; sexual stimulation right before a period during a failed cycle will stimulate your period to begin so a new cycle can start). I did not have this pattern until I reached about 32 y/o.

Good luck.

A woman is most fertile 13 to 15 days from the first day of her period. That is when you are ovulating. I took my pregnancy test about 1 week after I was supposed to start my period and got my positive test.

I'd say get a fertility monitor. Or monitor it yourself. I just guessed when I was ovulating and got it right. That doesn't happen with everyone though.
