general pinochet is dead, a dictator he sure was. He killed over 100,000 thousand people and was responsible for 10,000 people missing in chile. And guess who was supported him, yes the u.s and u.k. He even got invation to the u.k by the them prime minister margreat thatcher for him to have a heart operation. He stole over 10 billion dollars of chileian public money and invested it in banks abroad while his people starved and suffered. The u.s backed him in a coup to overthrow a democraticaly elected government and take power in a bloodied coup. So was the prime minister of panama who was kiddnapped and jailed by the u.s government. Now there are lots more dictators worse then saddam hussain who the u.s hve put in power. Now is this being a hypocrite or not? or is protecting your own intrests by killing civillians and turning a peacefull country into a war torn battlefield justified?

From the 1950's - 1990's all a dictator had to say was "I hate Communists" and he was an instant buddy of the US Government.
The reality of it is that the USA helped overthrow democratically elected Governments (Aristide in Haiti), sponsor death squads (The Contras in Nicaragua), support the drugs trade (Noriega in Panama), support terrorism (Bin Laden in Afghanistan), and much of it is now coming back to haunt the USA.
How retarded is it for the CIA to train Bin Laden, a man who they knew was anti-US, just because they didn't want the USSR to win in Afghanistan ?
