kk so i am reading charle's dickens a christmas carol for my school

and i have a follow up questions on each chapter..but there is this one question i dont understand

..what was scrooge's solutions to poverty??

i think his solutions to poverty were to have the homeless shelters take care of them along with the jails..and since a lot of them would rather die than be poor he suggested they do so.

The workhouse, sometimes referred to as the Bastille, was a ruthless attempt in 19th century England to solve the problem of poverty.

I believe his solution was to put the poor in jail.
I remember the line: "well thats what jails are for!'

send them poor to the workhouse or the prisons....if they rather die then tell them to hurry to help the surplus population.then 5tells them too leave he isnt giving any charity money
