PRO: if only one of species is left, then the species may start again
CON: all of the species would be identical, and that would mean that a desease would kill all of the population (that's why we have differentation)

One advantage of asexual reproduction is that a partner is not needed. However, one disadvantage is that, if there is a mutation, the mutation will carry out forever as long as it reproduces. That means the offspring will carry that genetic mutation and will pass it on to their offspring.

disadvantage of asexual reproduction is that the offspring is a clone. so they dont get the benefits of the mixing of genes. basically, if they have one bad gene, it gets passed on to all generations. they arent able to adapt over time to changes in environment etc.

sexual reproduction allows genetic diversity, which more species and more chances of survival in nature.

Asexual reproduction can reproduce more rapidly than sexual reproduction but less diverse.

an advantage is you don't have to find a mate. (if the population is scarce this will come in handy)
