no. but people do it anyway. They dont go after the people that download them but they do go after the sites that host them. Piratebay recently got shut down for a while over a certain torrent they were hosting. If you are interested in downloading movies, i suggest torrenting. Btmon.com, torrentz.com, isohunt.com is a great place to find those movies you are interested in seeing. If it left the theaters a few weeks ago, and you dont feel like waiting to rent, you could download a cam-recorded version by downloading it through a torrent. Yes, its illegal, but they really cant do anything about it.

This is a Digital crime!
UNLESS, you pay for the download with a legal company who pay royalties ect.
The following are not allowed: BitTorrent, FileSharing ect, but they are platforms for users so legal factors fall back on the uploader and not the software owners.

Yes, it is condsidered piracy if it is an illegal website. I downloaded 40 year old virgin from limewire. I honestly received a phone call from Cox Communications. They said if I did not take it off they would cancel my service and I would be blackballed from cox.

if youre not paying for them, then it's illegal. you probably wont get caught, but you never know. they like to arrest like one in a million people to make an example out of them.
