We're programmed that way.
The only meaningful rapport between a man and a woman is SEXUAL. There is absolutely no other reason for a man and a woman to relate to each other, unless it is Mother to child, etc. But we're talking here MALE-FEMALE relationships. So a man is programmed to evaluate everything a woman does in its sexual context. Just good old common sense....

that's just as true as the idea that women take everything men say in terms of how much money to buy shoes they can get out of the man. no, of course it's not true, a lot of guys do think about thing in sexual terms a lot, but i don't think tha any guy thinks of EVERYTHING in terms of sex. i think that most guys don't take things their mother says in sexual terms. maybe you only say things that have sexual connotations, or else you just aren't very good at finding guys who don't think like that.

women tend to be overly flirtatious and also overly unaware of it too.
It's difficult for men to know when a woman is being nice and when she's sending out a clear signal - so we have two options, either act as if it all means something - we'll miss quite a lot but we're bound to hit a target eventually,
OR
ignore everything and end up becoming that 'gay best friend' who they used to want to be with - but now they're just 'so nice'.

A lot of men do. How many times I was chillin at a bar, glancing around the room and some guy thought I was looking for him to approach me so that he could take me back to his place for a drunken encounter. Yes, they do.

Some do. It's weird, like a compulsion, and it shows an extreme lack of insight into how the other person (the girl) is feeling. It can be really annoying and obnoxious.

Its a case of wishful thinking overiding the obvious.
Im afraid a lot do, yes. At least it tends to be the first thing for a lot of us. And no, it generally gets you nowhere in terms of winning friends either.

Men who are looking for it do. Men who are not looking for a sexual relationship don't even notice most things that a "lonely" man does.

Look at it his way sometimes if you wan't something or someone so much you will look for any promising sign.
It must be so hard being so attractive I feel really sorry for you.
Nevermind maybe next time you will come back fat, hairy and ugly or maybe even a slug.
