Just recently she dropped out of high school. I am very concerned for her and her daughter, which is only a couple months old. She is not at home with her mother for certain reasons I will not say, but, is living with a boyfriend I really do not see fit for her. I just want to tell her, but I don't know what to say...I do not want to come off in a way that will offend her or make her feel like I am trying to control her or tell her what to do. Can you help me? What should I do and how should I approach her?

Trying to control someone, whether for their benefit or yours is never something you should try to do.

However, friends should voice concerns they have for eachother.

Tell her the truth, you love her, she's a good friend, and you're worried for her welfare and that of her childs. You're afraid that this guy will end up taking her life down a much harder road than she needs to travel.

Tell her you're worried and you dont know what to do for her to help her avoid the hardships that seem unavoidable with her current lifestyle.

And leave it at that. You cant make her choose one thing or another. And as it is, she probably sees this as the lesser of all evils. Being a teen with a child is very confusing, its not easy to know what to do, and to feel like everyone already thinks you're doing the wrong thing.

Voice your concern, and be her friend. All you can do when it comes down to it is be there when she needs you.

Tell her to have a good look at the boyfriend , because in 10 years she will not know what he looks like.

you could just tell her what you thought, and if she won't listen to you, then you did what you could. If it is a mistake she will realize it one day, and know she made the wrong decision! You learn from your mistakes! GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
