Hello there,
I am interested whether I can pay with USD in Dubai..or I need to change them to the local currency...Soon will be my first trip to Dubai so I don't know anything about it.

Both USD and Euro are acceptable in Dubai.

Like it was said before, USD are accepted, but you will be better off with local currency.
Do not change in banks. Go to i.e. Al Ansari exchange places. These places give you mostly a better rate.
You will find the first ones in Dubai Airport in terminal 1 and terminal 2
Also Dubai has many ATM maschines. You will find them at any bank and shopping centers.
Credit cards have a very well acceptance over here.

You can go to any money exchange and change your dollars for Dubai currency. If you have a credit card or ATM you can use it anywhere in the airport or in Dubai.

US dollars are accepted everywhere but it will be beneficial to convert it into the local currency because the dollar is quite higher than the currency in Dubai and so your few changes or balances will be locked up.just being economical

US Dollars are accepted in Dubai.
But its always good if you exchange ur $ in2 UAE Dirhams
1 Dirham= us$0.275
$1 Dollar= 3.65 Dirhams
your dollars will be accept almost anywhere in Dubai, So its not a big deal, if u dont exchange them in2 Dirhams...
But incase, for Taxis, Local Stores & food places where locals will rip u off, by offering de worst rates for ur dollar....
So in de end/// you do need de local currency!

American Dollars are widely accepted in all major stores in shopping malls and in souks, but for smaller purchases and dining in smaller restraunts you need to pay in UAE Dhirams (the local currency)
The Offical Exchange Rate is 1US $ = 3.66 UAE Dhiram (AED)

1 USD (U S Dollar) = 3.50 AED (UAE Dirham) approx. You can easily change US Dollars to Dirhams with a money changer in the airport, shopping malls, etc. No problem.

I'd say you should exchange it.
When you exchange you won't get the right amount of money as said in the Dubai Explorer.
You will get a little less.
