1 + 2 + 3 + ... + n = 10^8 pennies

The formula for the sum from 1 to n is n(n + 1) / 2

Therefore, n(n + 1) / 2 = 10^8
n(n + 1) = 2*10^8
n^2 + n - 2*10^8 = 0

Using the quadratic formula gives :
n is approximately 4999.5.

So on day 4999, you would not yet be a millionaire.
But on day 5000 , you would.

This is approximately 13 years, 8 1/4 months.

Each day you've earned a total of (1 + 2 + ...+ n) pennies.

So to earn 100,000,000 pennies...
Sum after n days = 1/2 n(n + 1)
100,000,000 = 1/2 n(n+1)
200,000,000 = n^2 + n

Use the quadratic formula to solve...
