When I was miscarrying, they told me not to use tampons at all and to just use pads. I too am insecure wearing a pad (I'm convinced everyone can hear it moving!), so I just used the ultra-thin ones and changed them frequently. Good luck, and make sure you get into the doc as soon as possible!

Perhaps wear a pad until you discuss this with your doctor. Usually the spotting should not be enough to warrant a tampon but of course there are always exceptions. Best person to give you advise on this is a professional medical practitioner so talk this through with your GP.

No you should not be using tampons while pregant. If your cervix is at all dilated you could possibly accidentally push the tampon, while inserting it, into the cervix and break the bag of water, thus causing a miscarriage. But you should not be spotting enough for tampon use at 7wks. Are you sure you're not miscarrying? Please keep that appointment with the doctor tommorrow in order to evaluate the pregnancy. Good luck!

You can't wear tampons during pregnancy because of the risk of toxic shock syndrome. Your insides are like sponge now and the baby will eventually absorb the chemicals you put into your body. You might ask your doctor about sea sponge tampons, which are natural and contain no chemicals. you can get them at the web address I list below. good luck with your pregnancy!
