I have an outside door that has a Corbin Series 100 door closure. The door seems to close slowly enough, but just before shutting it loses its effect and the door loudly slams shut.. I have no directions, and wonder if there is a "screw" to turn to soften the closing or if the closure is defective and needs replacing.

If it needs replacing, where do I go to get the replacement.

I'm fairly handy with tools, but this is all new to me.

It should have a screw or possibly an allen to adjust latch speed. If memory serves, you should have two adjustments at the base of the closer at one end. One for swing one for latch. possibly one on the opposite end which will be for back check. You should`nt have to mess with that one. Quick experimentation with the first pair should determine which is which. If tightening of appropriate adjustment does`nt remedy your problem, replacement is in order. A quick search on line should find you a new one.
