Some "big-box" baby stores will let you try different models out in your car before you buy one, so you can be sure it will fit.

I think maybe Babies'r'Us?

I really recommend doing that, because I had a hard time finding a seat that would work in my Honda Civic (hatchback), and my husband had a hard time finding seats that would work in his truck.

But the Civic is tiny, like your Metro, so I'll tell you that we used a Graco Snugride (2 bases) in both the truck and the Civic. For our older child, we use a Graco ComfortSport in the tiny car, and a Cosco AlphaOmega (I think?) in the truck.

But there's no substitute for trying it out and seeing what will work for you.

The best thing to do is to go somewhere like toys r us or mothercare where they can fit them to check they are ok.
Most newborn seats will fit if they are like the ones that go on to prams etc but check just to be sure the last thing you want to do is get one that doesnt fit right and only find out if you have an accident!
