I think Rugby League is, it's the only game where the teams lineup 10 metres apart and run straight at each other. No padding is worn because it restricts movement. These guys are T O U G H! Any other suggestions?

Have to agree with the Rugby answer, or perhaps Australian Rules Football which is very similar. Do ancient games count? How about the gladiators, or that ancient Mayan game that was a combo of basketball and soccer...was full contact and the losers were executed....mmm....

Ive never seen it played or played it but it seems brutal. With no padding it is tough...football is similar but not even close since they wear padding...hockey would also be close since they have a puck flying 300 mph at them and get hit in the knuckles with sticks and slammed into walls...plus when a fight breaks out (almost every game) it is rough. I would say NASCAR is the most dangerous sport but its not contact or a team sport. Rugby is very tough and probably the toughest.

I'd have to say rugby is the toughest contact team sport, because in football and in hockey they wear padding but in rugby they don't. But rugby is fun (I've played).

Football & Hockey are the 2 toughest sports in america. Me being a former football player, it takes everything in you to be able to go head to head for 48 mins (High school) or 60 mins in college!

International rules. Ireland gaelic team vs Australia Ozzie rules team. check out the videos on youtube etc. They are now calling for the games to be banned after the last match.
