Sand can be mined. An area near me on the north shore of long island used to be a sand mine (a golf course now).
Sand is mainly quartz and silica. This can be made by crushing rocks.
You can even get sand by dredging bodies of water.

I find sand in my drawers when I come home from the beach.
sand is made by the destructive erosion of sandstone, usually by wind and stone on stone weathering. Since the sandstone was formed from sand initially this actually represents part of a cycle.

sand is smashed up rocks, you could find sand in sandboxes on kiddie playgrounds, on the ground, in some water.
