i seen an iterview of a college player and said that teams are incourage to run up the score

By running up the score, the BCS ranking is improved by two effects: (1) Pollsters are more impressed by the teams victory, making them vote the team higher in the standings, and (2) the margin-of-victory component in some of the computer rankings which make of 1/3 of the total BCS ranking is improved.

In the BCS system if you win by more points it could help ure chances of being ranked higher. i dont htink a lot of team run up the score unless their coach is a jerk.
