Silver is still used heavily in movies and not as many people as you think have really switched to digital. Silver has more applications and use then one can write here. Everything from electronics to water filters to medical and beyond... silver is so low priced that it has not be profitable to mine it. The surplus is running low and consumer demand is rising. Silver has great potential be cause if only 1% of investment demand moved from paper to silver prices would sky rocket. It's a ticking time bomb so to speak. I would definatley buy some and sit back and ride your rocket to the moon!!!!

I am bullish on silver. The Silver ETF, symbol SLV, is the largest holding in my Top10Traders portfolio. Here is a link:

I also like wind energy, and oil field services right now. This link is from http://www.top10traders.com - this is a free site that lets you create a portfolio of stocks with $100,000 in "play" money. Each day the site ranks the best performing portfolios, so you can see how your picks perform compared to other investors. You can also read posts on investing from the best traders, as well as share your own investing ideas.
Here are this month's best traders:

Hope this helps.

The price sure has taken off lately. I'm surprised, since no one uses film for photography anymore, everything's digital. Whatever other uses there are for silver other than minting coins must be some demand for it lately.

According to my trading signals, Silver has just began another rally that should take it skyward. I think $17 to $20 is not unlikely in this rally. We'll see.
