My immediate reaction is "what do you like listening to?" because your heart has to be in an instrument in order to have a passion for playing it. Do you like saxophone? I have a friend took that up to play the jazz clubs near her home - but she'd always loved listening to it. I think this is one question where the best answer is found deep inside of yourself, not from anyone else!

I think Piano is the best....when you learn piano i think other instrument seem a little bit more easier. But i think you should find a type of music or the instrument sound that you like the most and then chose an instrument. ( polka = accordion, rock = electric guitar, classical =piano or violin) It will be easier for you to play when you like the sound of the instrument you will feel closer with the instrument, the instrument and you will become one.... Good luck!

hmmmm. Goood question,. How about the 4- string "tenor" banjo which is relatively easy to learn, and is quite popular just now? ( I'm assuming you are in the UK when I say this)
If I had to start learning an instrument again at MY advanced age, my personal choice would be the concertina.
