Well first of all christmas is a christian holiday so atheists really shouldnt have a say in the matter. Its supposed to be about God and the Lord and giving. Some argue christians should not celebrate it because in the bible it says not to follow egyptian ways or something like that. It doesnt say egyptian though it says something else. And Egypt supposedly held celebrations of the birthday of their leader or some important dude, so since christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birthday(which was in the SPRING!) it is wrong to celebrate it. Google the origin of birthdays and youll find a better explanation. Currently i think christmas has become a holiday for an excuse to sing songs, have good cheer and exchange gifts.

Well, it's supposed to be about God and Jesus but, technically, Dec. 25 isn't Jesus' bday. The Chritians wanted to have a winter holiday as well, since every other religion has one, and what better to say that it was the birth of their saviour. Though Jesus did exist, it's a matter of opinion as to weather or not he's god's son. There are a lot of confusions and mistranslations concerning Christ but basically Christmas is about economy now a days. It's really a time to sell and buy. For me, however, Christmas is a family time. It's all about how I can make others happy and be happy myself. For me, it has nothing to do with Christ OR with economy but really it's just a matter of opinion now.

Christmas is the celebration of the "birth" of Christ. Evidence suggests he was probably born in late January, but christians use the winter solstice, much like other faiths do. I am an athiest, and I believe christmas is all just about commercialism, and marketing. Jack in the box has a holiday gift card. Really? Celebrating the birth of your savior with 2 tacos? ok? Seems kinda ridiculous to me.

Christmas is about giving, and realizing that we are not the only human beings on the planet. knowing and coming to terms with the world around us, and being together to celebrate the coming of a new year. Christmas is about preparing to new years and looking back on a wild and confusing year. Learning from your mistakes and preparing to make a million more. But knowing all along that no matter what, its whats in your heart and soul that makes the holiday season worth celebrating. <3

Its about the birth of Christ. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, its about family, and spending time with them. About helping others in need, someone less fortuante than yourself. Get out and do something nice for someone. That is what Jesus would want you to do!! God Bless You and Merry Christmas.

The Bible does not mention Christmass anywhere.

Scholars unanimously agree Christ could not have been born on December 25 when examining scripture.

Many, if not all, Christmass artifacts come from known pagan practices.

We are told nowhere in the Bible to celebrate Christ birth.

If it is his birthday, why do we give each other presents instead of to Christ? (This is a terrible affront when you think about it.)

In short, it is a man-made holiday that does not honor Christ at all, but cleverly deflects truth.
