Okay, here is my situation. I'm trying to get pregnant. I think I was supposed to have my period a couple days ago, but it didn't come. I tested about a week ago, with an obvious negative result and now I tested again with another negative. I used a cheap pregancy test, because some people seem to think they are better. Some other info. is that I was on a mini pill for six months and went on the regular pill for about a week. This all ended about three months ago. After that I had a really light period, followed by a normal period last month. Also, I think my temp. is up just a tad because I normally run in the 97's and it is consistently in the 98's. Also, my veins are really close to the surface. I guess my question is...should I go to the doctor or just wait and see what happens? I'm really starting to get freaked. If I'm not pregnant, I'm afraid I'm not going to ovulate either because my period isn't coming.

The fertillity rate of a woman should sky rocket (depending on the age) after they stop taking the pills. So I'm sure you'll be able to get pregnant.

As for now, go to the drugstore and ask the pharmacist there to recommend you a more accurate/sensitive pregnancy test strip. Some can even detect 3-5 weeks pregnancies.

Stress & malnutricient can cause period delays, or even stops it for a few months. If you still don't get your period after a month and no sign of being pregnant, go see a doctor and they can give you medicines to regulate your hormones.

I'd say wait another week for another pregnancy test; until then, try your best to relax. Some women stress out and effectively stop their own periods when they really want to be pregnant (I delayed a few of mine before I managed to catch!) In a week, take another pregnancy test (assuming you haven't had your period). If it's still negative, then it's probably time to get to the doctor to get a blood test. Good luck!!!

You should go ahead and make the appointment with your doctor. There are tests they can do to not only tell you whether or not you are pregnant, but also check the level of the hormones that make you ovulate. When I was on the pill, my hormones got all imbalanced and it took me 10 years to be able to conceive and carry my daughter.

Also, stress can make you late. So best thing to do is to go to the doctor, and find out what is going on for sure. :)

Good luck.
