Anyone have any suggestions for a song I should do for my schools local talent show? Our theme this year is Blast to The Past, so we're talking older music... I've been considering "Don't Play That Song" by Aretha Franklin, but I'm definitely open to suggestions if anyone can think of anything... My voice is some kind of wierd pop/rock mix between Kelly Clarkson and Amy Lee, if that helps at all.
Suggestions are very much appreciated!

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned this sooner... Christmas songs would be unacceptable, being as the show is in January...

here are some older (black) female artists that I can think of considering your voice (style)

Milly Jackson
Tina turner
Donna Summer
Diana Ross
Melba Moore
Roberta Flack
Aretha Franklin
Dionne Warwick
Rose Royce

They have lots of good music that spans from slow to fast and everything inbetween. You will need to listen to some of them and make a choice. Good luck

Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt but in order to pull that off you have to be able to purr.

Or if you want something fun try These Boots were made for Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra
