Yes, you do forget.
Then when you go into labour with the next one you think "Oh, sh*t, what have I done?"
It hurts like hell. But as long as you stay calm you can cope with it. You need to remember it's a natural process and it's not going to last long.

most women do forget. I did. Then when I was in labour with my second I thought to myself. Why am I putting myself through this again. It does hurt a lot believe me but its a different kind of pain. I wanted more children and still do. The pain is but a memory and does not scar you mentally.
Don't let the thought of the pain put you off having children. The way I dealt with the thought of what was coming in my first pregnancy was just thinking to myself that its going to happen whether I want it to or not. I will just deal with it when the time comes. No point stressing about it. Enjoy being pregnant and feeling the little person inside of you. You will never feel anything like it.
Do not worry its all worth it when you are holding your baby to yourself and realise that you have created this wonderful little being. All forgotten when you feel the love for your baby wash over you!!

When I had my baby I was really surprised as to how much I enjoyed the labour. Throughout the pregnancy everyone tells you their horror stories about labour pain and you spend the whole time worrying. I wish that someone would have told me of their positive experiences as well.
I think that labour is different for everyone. I went into hospital with a really positive attitude. I knew it was going to be hard, but if you just concentrate your mind on the beautiful baby you're going to meet at the end of it it will be a lot easier on you. I had a water birth(definitely recommend it) with no drugs. Pretty good as my birth plan was that I was gonna take any pain relief that they had on offer.
I hope that this has helped you a little. Just remember that although labour will be hard try to remember why you're doing it. You re going to meet your baby. Women have been giving birth for thousands of years and our bodies are designed to give birth. It really is true that when you see your baby any pain you were feeling just disappears. It is an amazing experience which you should look forward to. Please don't let people scare you with their stories, enjoy it x

Everyone is different and although I know people who had a hard time during their labour, I also know women who didn’t have much trouble at all. Just remember it’s not terrible pain for everyone and most women will admit it is tolerable and remember, it isn’t permanent! Obviously there are exceptions just as with anything in life. I had my son 4 months ago and had been told all sorts of horror stories about the pain and was certain I would have to have an epidural but I did yoga in the run up to the birth, stayed positive and calm and it was like my body took over and from when I got to the hospital, my baby boy was born within 2 hours so I had no time for any drugs, I just had gas and air! And he was my first! I remember back to my labour now and I don’t remember the pain as when I received my little bundle I was just so proud of myself and awestruck at the power of my body and I will definitely be doing it again.
It’s something not to be missed and don’t let worry about the pain put you off, you’re body is built for and very capable of doing it!

I didn't actually forget how painful it is, I just love what I got when it was all over. A beautiful baby boy, then a pretty little girl. And yes, it's the most painful thing you can go through, but there are some great drugs to help if you need them. I think it's just easier with the second cause after the first you realize you will do anything for your babies!

I have 2 children and labor & delivery hurts alot! And I didn't forget the pain, its the emotional floodgate that opens when you have your baby that makes having a child worth dealing with the pain. Having an epidural helps alot. My first child, I had to deal with full blown contractions for 6-7 hours before the anesthesiologist could get to me, by then it was too late since the baby was crowning . My second child, I had that epidural within 1 hour of painful contractions, I never knew that I could get some sleep while laboring after what I went through with my first. It is sooo worth it!!!!!!!!

It hurts a lot to have a baby, but you forget the pain. After the baby is born, and you know he/she is healthy, that's what you concentrate on. The pain is gone, and the baby is here. When and if you're ready to have a second or subsequent child, you'll know it; if you have only one, that is still a blessing. Don't worry about the pain - it's temporary; your baby will be yours for as long as you live.

Child birth is incredibly painful but in my opinion you do forget it and the pain stops as soon as you deliver.I have one child now and can't wait to have more . Painful but knowing what your gonna get at the end of the labour is the best feeling you could ever have.

Yes i agree childbirth is painful and a lot of people said to me that i'd forget the pain but i have't and that was over 9 yrs ago. I think the thing that makes us have more children is the fact that our children are worth it and so have more for this reason.
