Ok - I have recently been through this - first dont panic.
They will probably ask you for a urine sample to confirm you are not pregnant and check levels in your urine.
Then your probably going to be asked alot of routine questions about your health, sex life, cycles etc.. and be sent away to ahve routine bloods - and to check if you may have Polycystic ovarian syndrome (which I have) - that probably will be the end of your visit.
Dr's cannot really do anything until test results come back as there can be many causes for non-ovulation.
Depending on the results you may need to have a internal scan where your ovaries / womb etc.. are checked and also they can check for PCOS too. (But this will probably be done way into the futeure depending on what your bloods reveal - if anything)
Relax - honest you'll be fine - alot of the first few visits are chats and being sent away for tests etc...

Hi. I've been thorugh the whole ivf route too. As everyone keeps saying: don't worry about it. If you think of it as an interesting journey I've found it helps to take away some of the stress. I have nothing to add really as everyone has given you very sound advice about what to expect. The only other thing I will add is that sometimes, depending on how busy your clinic/specialists are, the whole process can drag out a little bit unfortunately. Once you're receiving treatment you have to go at regular intervals but all the pre-treatment stuff that you go for initially can take a while. When we went we had to wait 3 months between our first two appointments so don't go in there expecting everything to be sorted in a matter of weeks. Maybe it will be (I hope so) but be prepared for a bit of a wait so that you won't be too disappointed or shocked if that's what happens. Good luck.

First of all the will just talk to you and get some information to see if there may be health issues that can be causing you not to ovulate. They may set you up for an ultrasound to see if you have cysts, PCOS, or endometreosis (these health problems can effect ovulation ) They will discuss your options. They may prescribe medication to help bring on ovulation or increase your odds by getting your body to release more than one egg. Usually they will be able to help one way or another. Good luck

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is have become very common now. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best medical experts. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest prices

Hope this helps.

The chances are they will carry out some further tests or possible give you drugs to get you ovulating. These drugs have to be taken on certain days and are highly effective.
