good sportsmanship is simply not rubbing it in the face of an opponent when you have an advantage, mostly when you have a lead. An example is in basketball, when a team is ahead by say 10 and there is less than 10 seconds to play you should not work for a shot because you are running up the score and that is considered in bad taste when the other team has consented defeat.

Sportsmanship is important in every sport because it shows that you are a good player or even a good team and when you have sportsmanship you don't rub something in another players face when you win the game, or you don't get a attitude when you lose the game. One time i had to show good sportsmanship is when I was on the court playing basketball.

Sportsmanship is important when playing basketball, because it makes everyone around you better. Sportsmanship is not fighting with your team mates, having respect for the other team, and passing the ball.
If you do not have these attributes during a game of basketball, your team will be a mess.
If you are the best basketball player on your team, averaging 30+ points a game, but you do not pass the ball to your team mates, you are a bad player. Your team will loose most of its games, because you are taking 50 shots a game, and your team mates are barely doing any of the work. Once you decide to pass to your team mates, it improves the all around game of each of your team mates, and your team will start to win more games, and improve overall.

Spotsmanship is important when playing because it keeps the game running well, where as if you dont have good sportsmanship, fights or other bad things may occur.
1 good example of sportsmanship is shaking hands after a game, win or loss, or encouraging your teamates even if they do something wrong.
One recent good sportsmanship things i have done is after losing 2 grandfinals on saturday one by 2 and one by 3 and I still shook all of the opponents hands.

good sportmanship would be like the cal an unfair foul and you just go along with it. Or a member of the other team might trip you and you would just ignore. Also if you lose, dont be whining suckit up
