Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

if you're using windows xp - try do a system restore
click Start - all programs - accessories - system tools - system restore
when the window pops up - click on a date that your computer was running good
then follow the instructions from there on
once you're done - it will reboot your computer
also - have you run your virus scan to make sure you have no other viruses? and is your anti virus program updated? (on a regular basis?)
you might have adware on your pc as well
might want to install and run an adware program to check your computer - you can download from the following website:

Are you absolutely sure your PC is clean ? Try some other free antivirus scanner online, install more antispyware and run them again. If it's clean you probably need to defrag your pc and need to get rid of some of the unnecessary apps running in background.

Running slow could just be the server you are on too. There is all kind of freeware on the internet. Windows One Live Care is great...

I suggest you download AOL Active Virus Shield, It's based on the popular Kaspersky Lab Virus Killer.
It removes viruses, spyware, trojans and as it's based on kaspersky lab it removes 100% of viruses in the wild.
There's links and also a great walkthrough with a step by step guide: http://walkthroughwizard.info/
