Ultra Sound Questions.?

Hi I was talking to a girl today that is due the same time that I am. She is actually due a day before me. We were talking about ultra sounds and when our first one was, and I happened to have one on me from when my baby was about 9 weeks. She said omg, your baby is so much bigger than mine was...but of course my baby was taken at 7 weeks. Doctors say that the earlier you get the ultra sound, the more accurate reading towards to due date. Can babies get a lot bigger within 1.5 weeks?? And, are most ultra sounds accurate about due date at the beginning? I wouldn't be asking this if I knew the first day of my LMP. Someone help. Thank you . :) I mean, if the doctor says that I'm 12 weeks....could he be wrong and I really be 14 ...?? Help please

it is possible, my friends due date is in January, and her baby looks like it will come near Christmas sometime i reckon her due date is about 3 weeks out and so does she and now the doctors do as well

Well I've been told that the ultra sound measures the size of te baby, and every baby developes at different rates, so if you have a small baby your ultrasound may say you are 12 weeks when you are 14 weeks. This can be frustrating when you want to know the conception date. Also 1 in every 20 babies are born on the actual due date so I guess science has a ways to go. Good Luck.

Babies grow a huge amount between 7 and 9 weeks. I think they double in size approximately. Your due date based on your ultrasound should be correct within 5 days. So if they tell you June 15 it could be anywhere from June 10 to June 20.

I would trust the ultrasound, they are usually right. As far as one baby being bigger than the other that is probably just how the pic looks. Don't worry, it will all turn out just fine.

Their pretty good at getting the age right ..Every baby ,like every pregnancy is different so don`t worry
