My brother and I have been arguing over which is better: the X-Box 360 (I say) or the Wii (he says). His argument is that it is cheaper and much cooler because you move your body to control. I say that the X-Box 360 has more to offer and has better features. I do not like the fact that to play the wii, you must move your body. I think that that could get annoying after awhile; however it is pretty cool. I was just wondering if anyone has any comments on which they think is better and why so that we can settle this and agree to go halvsies on it.

Ignore any answer that is shorter then a paragraph... Unless they have some information.. Screw'em..

But use the search function..

So time for business..

For now I would have to say.. It depends what you and your brother is looking for, find a common goal.. Whether it be a cheaper price to save your and your parent's money, shooting games, fitness.. etc
My prediction will be that the Wii will be GREAT this Christmas, getting your parents into gaming and your grumpy relatives and then who knows? Maybe your mom or dad might buy a 360 to see if it's like the Wii... But maybe your parents are non gamers period or maybe your dad loves shooting games etc..

Xbox 360 (Microsoft):

Pros -

-Game Library: Lets face it, Xbox 360 has some killer titles since it's been out for about 1 year or so.. Such as Gears of War, Ghost Recon AW, and things like Oblivion... But your little brother might be unhappy with the mature games, or your older brother just might like this unless he is one of those people who love fitness. For the future, Xbox 360 is coming out with some pretty cool stuff such as Halo 3 and Ghost Recon AW 2... PLus game developers can work with the 360 much more easier since well, it's easier then to figure out the Wii's motion sensing.. All games have HDTV support.

-Xbox Live : Alright, Microsoft.. Or well the Xbox owns the multiplaying net... There are so many features in Xbox 360 such as downloading your favorite TV shows and renting your favorite movies. Playing with over 2 million people, chatting with cameras and headsets... Amazing.. But it's also a con which I will list later...

-Media Capability : If you have a Windows XP, or even better a Windows XP Media Center.. Then your Xbox 360 can hook up to the computer and you can download and upload your favorite songs. You can also hook up your video camera or camera or even an Ipod etc etc on your Xbox 360 and view them on HDTV or TV...

-HDTV : The Xbox 360 was like made for High Definition TV (HDTV). But it can also be played on a normal TV, at least it has a good HDTV feature. Plus whether it be a normal TV or a HDTV, the Xbox 360 graphics are AMAZING.. It's better or in par with the new PS3..

-HDDVD: Xbox 360 can also play HDDVD and lesser DVD however the cons to this is down there..

There's obviously more but I'm tired and I will be writing a lot more..

Cons:

-Xbox Live : Xbox Live may be one of the greatest place for multiplaying.. Yet it is expensive to take out of you mom/dad's credit card.. Unless your parents just don't care and are filthy rich or are gamers also..

-HDDVD : Mainly the HDDVD requires a 200$ add-on which can be bought at your local game shop.. But 200$ is quite expensive along with the 400$ console. (There is a 300$ core package, but dude get the 400$ one.. You'll save tons of money on the Hard Drive and the etc..)

-Faulty Equipment : Microsoft... Hmm.. That was the brand of program I was using before it screwed up on me.. Oh yeah... Well Microsoft has been getting a lot of bad and good feed backs due to their faulty equipment.. Although rare yet more common in the core package... People have been getting their Xbox and having them screw up the next day.. But it's RARE... Uncommon now days..

-Faulty Updates : This is pretty common now with the Fall Update.. Over thousands of people are having their system screw up due to this Update from Xbox Live.. And they are sueing Microsoft for not having it fixed unless you pay 140$ to them...

-Price : Well the Xbox 360 is 400$ (300$ like I said is sort of a waste, since it doesn't even have a hard drive..) compare to the Wii's 250$.. Wow.. Games are quite expensive too, varying from 30 to 60$...

-Backwards Capability : Xbox 360 can play original Xbox games.. This is a GOOD THING (sorry I couldn't remember this when I was working on Pro).. YET you need a HARD DRIVE to play these games and NOT ALL games work.. Some may have some errors and such..

There are more cons.. So don't let this answer be the only source.

Nintendo Wii -

Pros -

-Great and New gaming experience - This basically includes the motion sensing ability and such.. It is much better then PS3's mediocre Motion sensing.. It makes you work and move or just sit and wave your hand to get this whole new experience.. Most likely your family will love it too since any one can pick up and play unlike those games which leaves my parents saying.. "Too complicated.."

-Backwards Capability : Nintendo Wii can play ALL the Game Cube games.. But you'll need a Game Cube controller...

-WiiConnect24 : WiiConnect24 if that's how it's said.. Then well the WiiConnect24 is like Xbox Live but only free.. You can surf the internet on your TV, check the weather on the WiiWeather channel, make your own WiiMe or something like that to chat in the Wii world..

-Wii Me : Is that how it's said? Not too sure but it's this amazing feature where you can make your self and maybe others such Michael Jackson (with the right selection of cloths and facial expressions..) and play against them in games and such.. Like how Stephan Colbert made himself and Nancy Polsi and beat her in WiiBoxing..

-Wii Sports : The Wii Package WILL ALWAYS come with a Wii Sports, if it doesn't it is a mistake and you should ask for it.. Wii Sport allows you to have a tutorial with the controller, it's basically a game it self... Allows you to play baseball, boxing, basketball, bowling, tennis.. etc Very fun... It also has a fitness course where it rates your fitness...

-Price : Obviously.. All of this for only 250$.. What a bargain! Trust me a 250$ console that provides all this.. IS VERY TEMPTING!!

-HDTV: Well the Wii supports HDTV.. How ever.. Ehy.. I'll tell you in the cons section..

-Media Capability : This is sort of a con but these are good stuff.. The Wii can upload photos directly from your camera's memory card and you can edit your photos and such.. It's more for fun then serious editing..

-Wireless : The Wii has a built in wireless Wi-Fi.. It's also a con too in a way..

-Game Library : Also sort of a con.. But the good stuffz... The Wii has a great line up of games such as Madden 07, Excite Truck, WiiSports, Raymond, and not the last but Zelda : The Twilight Princess.. Future games will be coming such as Super Smash Bros Brawl and Metroid and they are coming up with a shooting controller like the WiiMote.. And the games are made for family (exception to Red Steel which is horribly sucky), such as Zelda, WiiSports, Excite Truck etc etc.. So your family won't have to see those realistic blood and guts and enjoy a good happy competitive family moment...

There are much more pros.. So this isn't the only source..

Cons:

-Wi-Fi : The wireless part of the Nintendo Wii, you need a wireless router to connect.. If not you must either have a Nintendo DS or you must BUY a wireless ADAPTER for your computer so the Wii can use your computer's internet (Your computer also might not be capable to check)...

-Media Capability : The Wii can not play HDDVD or DVDs or your fancy crap.. It's MENT FOR GAMING.. But Wii is coming out with a software update (maybe hardware. not sure tho..) to allow it to play DVDs... Not sure about the Ipod and the music.. But I know the Wii has USB ports..

-HDDVD or graphics : The Wii can only support up to 480i or 480P (I think, or around that, and 480p if you have the HDTV cables and the TV).. The graphics are comparable to a late end Game Cube games.. Maybe if you're one of those fancy people who care a lot about realism and graphics, this console isn't for you..

-Faulty WiiMote Strap : Reports been coming in that their wrist strap is faulty, and people who are stupid and over competitive are breaking their TVs, windows.. all sorts of stuff..

-Nintendo is being Sued : Nintendo is currently being sued by Interlink, Interlink is accusing Nintendo of "stealing" their idea about the WiiMote.. Don't let this scare ya...

-Game Library : This game library is mostly for family so you might be like.. Hell no I don't wanna play my game with my Grandma or my mom.. And currently Nintendo doesn't have a big choice selection compare tot he 360..

There are much more cons like I said in the 360 section.. RESEARCH AND DON'T LET THIS BE YOUR ONLY SOURCE..
But hey I got an idea... Since this is Christmas and the holiday of GIVING.. Why not stop being selfish and get your brother a Nintendo Wii and he can get you a Xbox 360. At least YOU'LL be saving 150$s.. ;)

Search function please.. my hands are twitching.. I need a life =/

Ps3 has no better grapics than the 360 does, all the ps3 has is bragging rights for being the most powerful system, but no games will use the ps3's power untill the technology is developed. as of today and most likely another 2 years, the xbox 360 and the ps3 will have nearly the same graphics. The only difference to me, between the 360 and the ps3 is the price and controller. I admit, that controller looks sweet, but no rumble?! and if sony wants to be the best War game experiance... dont you think they should have added triggers to their controller? like the 360's.

as for your question. I played a wii at gamestop, it is pretty sweet and you really dont have to move your body that much, just your hands. but i do agree, it could get really annoying. I would personaly lvoe to get a 360 because it is more devoloped and debugged. also it has the most available games between the 3, and the cheapest i might add, ive seen them for 19.99 at best buy.

Another thing that bugs me about the ps3. is if you buy the 499.99 package, you lose the built in wifi, so you are actually getting a different form of the ps3. if you buy the 299.99 xbox, you get the exact same system, you just lose some accessories, like wireless controller, headset, hard drive. Also the xbox COMES WITH HDMI cables if you buy the 399.99 version! the ps3 doesnt even come with those, even at a 600 dollar price tag!

Ide take the 360, but the wii still looks fun, but i honestly cant imagine enjoying it 6 months later, that kind of playing would just get old.

I've played XBOX 360, Wii, and PS3, and would have to side with Wii. You don't NEED to actually move that much; it's just more fun! The PS3 and XBOX 360's graphics are strikingly similar. It all comes down to the games. The XBOX 360 has a stable library of games, but for the other two, we'll just wait and see. I would think that they could make some very fun and inovative games for the Wii.

Wii is definitely better than Eye Toy, I have both. The Wii is very fun, and after playing it I can't imagine playing a game with anything besides the Wii Remote. XBox 360 is cool too, but I gotta give it to the Wii. If you have played it, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. If you have never played it, you have to try. Once you go Wii, you never go back.

The 360 is better then the Wii (or PS3).

To clarify, Xbox live is only $50 a year. That is not expensive at all. And you don't have to be filthy rich to afford that.

If you like playing on-line then the 360 is your only choice.

well, the wii is a nice fitness machine :P but one thing that bites my a$$ is that you have to pay for XBox Live. and in the long run xbox will contenue to give you the best graphics, and features. give Nintendo one more generation to figure out what their doing : )

ps3 owns both both.... but 360 if you like games like halo ( which is the the only good game for the box) or the wii if you like fun games like ssbb or mario( I still think the wii is like an eye toy fot the ps2, which was horrid).
