I'm just assuming you are a parent not the student. A hundred dollars is way to much, how about a donation of supplies the teacher or school needs. Most teachers appreciate the parents who are involved the child's education. Make sure that the teacher knows this for the appreciation of their efforts not trying to bribe them.

Forget the cute little trinkets that says #1 teacher, the coffee mugs with old cliches and such. And by all means don't buy fragrances. (My mother has enough unused cologne from her teaching days to stock a drug store.)

Particularly around the holidays, home made cookies or other baked goods are great. Everyone is busy around the holidays and time for baking special treats for entertaining can be hard to come by. When you give this kind of gift, you also give the gift of time.

The other thing is gift certificates to a good teacher supply store. Many teachers end up spending from their own pockets for their classrooms. This can help ease that burden.

My mom's a teacher and she would be embarrassed if she got something for $100. $50 is plenty, and I would get a gift card for a teacher's store. They never have a big enough budget, and this way you'd be giving to the classroom as well! If you still wanted to give her a little something for herself, how about a gift certificate for a mani or pedicure, something pampering-she does deal with kids all day!

class room supplies of some sort.

You are being very generous. Ask a teacher nearby who you know is friends with your teacher what he would like. Let him know you have a high budget.

Or, go to a teacher supply store or a Target and get a gift certificate.

Seriously, teachers often spend hundreds of their own dollars on classroom supplies each year, so it will be a big help.

No, not $100! Well, I saw in a store called 5Below (a store where everything is between $1-$5) there are really cute figures of Ziggy holding an apple saying, "You're number 1!"
and one of Ziggy writing on a chalkboard, "You ARE the gift, teacher!"
5Below has a store locator on their website. You should check it out! You can find so many more things! GOOD LUCK!

(Ps. with these prices, you will be able to buy SO MANY gifts with YOUR budget!!;)

I think it is very nice for you to show your gratitude by remembering this teacher. I think that you don't HAVE to spend even near $100 to show you appreciate him (although the thought is nice). If you don't know what this teacher likes, a gift certificate or shopping card would be really nice. That way he can get what HE likes. God Bless & Merry Christmas!

Then give him a gift card and $50 is plenty to a store that he would like, most time teachers get gifts that are not what they would like, and what ever you do don't get anything with teacher your #1 or your the best. the just collect dust.

That is great that you want to give something to your teacher. Find out where your teacher likes to eat out. Then get him a gift certificate for two to his favorite restaurant. This way your instructor can have a nice dinner out with his loved one. Just keep it around $50.00.

Nothing cheesy like stuff that has apples on it or says "worlds best teacher". What is he into. It's been my experience that most people who go into teaching like to read. Something along that line maybe, and I agree, $100 is way to much and I think your teacher would say the same.
