Rock salt to kill roots?

I heard that you can flush rock salt down the toilet and it will kill the roots in my sewer pipe is this true?

Yeah, it will, but it won't clear them out.

Maybe if you own a salt mine... just kidding. Try ROOTO you can purchase in a hardware works well on root removal.

i would not put to much salt in a sewer system it may rust any metal parts in your system.
