he just hasn't lived up to being the number 1 pick a couple years ago. i mean, in his draft class, big ben had the stronger arm and rivers had more experience. the reason why he was number 1...because he's a manning. the giants just assumed he would be good because he comes from the royal family of football. they thought he would be like his dad, a pro bowl quarterback and his brother, future hall of famer and one of greatest to ever play the game. but he hasn't made a lot of progress, still makes rookie mistakes...do you think his name made everyone think he's good?

Unfortunately, the fact that he is a Manning puts the bar very high. His father was a good quarterback and his brother could be one of the best ever to play the game. The high expectations that everyone has when it comes to Eli may be unfair to him. Like any other young quarterback, he needs to develop, grow, and learn to play in the NFL. Throwing him in the line-up and expecting Peyton number two is unfair and unrealistic. Give this guy a few years and some time to learn how to play in the NFL.

You are right. He hasn't lived up to his expectations at all. But then again, sometimes it takes time for quarterbacks to build up to greatness. Do I think he'll ever be his brother? Absolutely not. Peyton is just...on a completely different level than Eli. Will Eli be at least a good quarterback? I think so.
Like I said, it just takes time for some of them. Troy Aikman had a 0-15 record in his first season, and look how he is regarded now. You just never know :)

He has definitely not lived up to expectations, and he definitely still makes rookie mistakes, especially just throwing the ball up when he is in trouble. But he is still young and you never know. I mean sometimes he looks good, and sometimes he doesn't. But he definitely seems to have been an overated pick as it stands right now.

Eli Manning has not lived up to his expectations. He has not done well in his career at all compared to his bro. Even though he is still young, I dont think he will develop into a great QB like Peyton.

eli just hasnt been playing well, with the rest of his team, in the past weeks....and he hasnt been that bad, and today he played like a manning with 3 tds no ints...i think him and peyton switched places this week.......he has shown alot of improvement his first season he completed less than 50 and 6 tds and 9 ints....last season was much better completing just over 50 with 24 tds 17 ints and almost 4000 yards so he is playing much better than when he first started...
